Phil. 1:6 – A Tool to BANISH Frustration
Sometimes, every now and then, we want to give up because we are frustrated. We might be at our wits end as to what to do. Maybe we’ve run into a wall and no matter how hard we pray nothing seems to change. Often, we work hard, putting in long hours. It may appear that we are standing still, with no progress, or nothing to show for all our labors.
This feeling is nothing new; we’ve all been in this place called frustration at some point in our walk with God.
Remember this : “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
This is a promise.
He who began…will bring to completion what He started in you.
The LORD will fulfill… (see Ps. 138:8)
He will sustain… (see 1 Cor. 1:8; Ps. 55:22)
1 Peter 5:7 admonishes us to cast our cares upon Him. These cares include burdensome emotions (feelings that weigh us down), situations that aren’t going according to our schedule, even people who are not cooperating or not following our wishes, and circumstances we have no control over. Those things are cares and they are simply too heavy for us to carry. So, let’s lay them at the feet of our Messiah. Didn’t He say, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (See Matt. 11)
Want a tool to banish frustration? It’s rest, putting our complete and total trust in the One who called us. Resting in the assurance of His awesome love and tender mercies for us. Knowing that He who started this work is the same who will finish it. We can sit back in His arms (if we choose to do so), let Him take the helm, and then relax, trusting that He knows the way. Try resting in Him, relax your grip, take a breath of His Spirit, and watch frustration melt away.
QUIET YOUR MIND from the flurry of the day and think on these verses:
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5
for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Philippians 2: 13
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46:10
for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:10
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6-7

Until next time, stay strong in His might!
Know that we pray for you every day!
